Born in Scotland I started sailing as a child and in my teenage years found a real passion for the sport sailing in British Columbia and surrounding waters. Nowadays I sail onboard a carbon race boat in Hong Kong competing in the various local races as well as China Sea races to neighboring Philippines and Vietnam.
The sale of my pervious company allowed me to follow my passion for sailing further by opening my very own sail loft with some close friends and my wife Cordula.
We had over 12 years of manufacturing in the Far East before setting up Cliffside Sails in late 2019. Cliffside was set up with the idea to offer sails which could benefit from the cheaper manufacturing costs of Asia while benefitting from Western design and Quality control systems. We ensure that all the sailcloths and hardware we use are from reputable suppliers, mainly in the USA and Europe. With this unique set up we really think we can offer great sails for a fair price.
